DIVISIONS

The American Baseball Union is split into multiple divisions to ensure that players of all skill and experience levels are able to enjoy the game that they love. These divisions are as follows:

Elite Division

The Elite Division is the most competitive division in our organization. It is open to all players age 18 and over. This division is open to all teams with 2+ years experience in the ABU and who have made the playoffs in the professional division for 2 consecutive seasons.  Teams that fail to earn 40% of their available points in two consecutive seasons will be removed from the Elite Division and moved to the Professional Division. 

Professional Division

The Professional Division is  the mid-level competitive division in our organization.  It is open to all players and teams who wish to participate.  Teams that fail to earn 30% of their available points in three consecutive seasons will be removed from the Professional Division and placed in the Rookie Division.  Teams that qualify for the playoffs in two consecutive seasons will be promoted to the Elite Division.

Rookie Division

The Rookie Division is the least competitive division in our organization.  It is open to all players and teams who wish to participate.  All "free agent teams" will play their first season in the rookie division.  Teams that make the playoffs in two consecutive season will be promoted to the Rookie Division.
